Diptford C of E Primary School, part of the Link Multi Academy Trust, is seeking to appoint a part time Teaching Assistant to commence in April 2021.
Diptford is a thriving and vibrant school, yet our small size enables us to know every child in real depth; to understand their talents and what motivates them. We aim to help every child discover their unique and individual potential and support them to develop it. We offer a caring, nurturing environment with a unique family atmosphere. Our school has an excellent reputation and achieves high academic standards through the provision of a rich and exciting curriculum that makes the most of our beautiful surroundings. Our curriculum is broad, varied and includes fantastic opportunities, such as forest school and outdoor learning, surfing, archery, eco-projects, gardening, baking and so much more!
The Link Academy Trust provide you with the tools and support to develop your own expert knowledge and skills and the chance to support others in their journey. You will be part of a proficient team dedicated to working to improve the outcomes for all our children, where your work life balance will be promoted. We offer you the support of clear systems, protocols, expectations and structures to help you to succeed as a teaching assistant, including mentoring and coaching.
You will need to be inspirational and reflective, show initiative, resilience and demonstrate the aptitude and professionalism to work as part of a successful and growing team of practitioners to improve the life chances of our pupils and make every child feel ‘special’. We want you to come and join our happy, positive learning environments where our consistent vision is that through collaboration we will always be ‘Stronger Together’
You will provide in-class support including tailored interventions, and small group work under the direction of the teacher. We are looking for an individual with a sensitive and nurturing approach to children’s needs, who can be flexible, communicate effectively and think creatively.
Ideally, you will:
- Be able to build good relationships with children, staff and parents and be a friendly and positive presence in our school;
- Have excellent English and Maths skills;
- Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and be able to maintain consistent boundaries;
- Be willing to work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour;
- Be able to use your own initiative when required;
- Have experience in a similar role in a school;
You should have English and Maths to GCSE A-C or equivalent.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
