The  vision for the Sports Premium Grant is for all pupils to leave primary school being physically able  and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.

In Diptford, we use  the premium to develop or add to the physical education  activities that we already offer and also, build capacity and capability to ensure that improvements we make now will benefit pupils joining the school in years to come. We also commit to ensuring that all pupils, from our youngest to our oldest, have the opportunity to challenge themself by providing an outdoor and adventurous activity and/or visit every year. 

There are 5 key indicators that we expect to see improvement across:

1. The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – the Chief Medical Officer guidelines recommend that all children and young people aged 5 to 18 engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, of which 30 minutes should be in school
2. The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
3. Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
4. A broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
5. Increased participation in competitive sportWe are incredibly lucky to be supported by the Link Academy Trust PE team who organise a wealth of events for pupils of all ages throughout the year in addition to providing the pupils with high quailty PE lessons in school.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Follow this link to find out more: Facebook
